富士講Why we are called that

In the Edo period, people who wanted to climb Fuji joined a kō. A society that saved together, walked together, and sent a few members up on behalf of everyone still at home. We took the name because the shape of it hasn't changed. Small group, everybody carries something, nobody is a customer.

We work the north side, out of Fujiyoshida, with guides who grew up in the villages under the mountain.

Late April. The five lakes turn pink and the mountain is still white down to the fifth station. Everything above that is shut, which is exactly why the shore is the best place to be standing.
